Strechau Castle was mentioned in a document as early as 1074 and was converted into a Renaissance castle in the middle of the 16th century. It is the second largest castle in Styria. A footbridge that leads off the path and offers a great view of the Enns. The color of the river changes depending on the season and precipitation.

As the name suggests, you can observe different types of dragonflies here. The water of the pond is very dark and seems enchanted. Unfortunately, the entire Pürgschachen Moos is threatened by drainage, intensive agriculture and dry summers.

On the moor platform you will find an information board with interesting background information and a description of the visible peaks. The view sweeps far over the rare high moor with pines and birches. The Pürgschachener Moor (also called Pürgschachener Moos) is considered to be the best preserved high valley moor in the inner-Alpine region and is under protection.
