The first church was mentioned in 1369, and a larger one was consecrated in 1420 in honor of Saint Oswald, an Anglo-Saxon king from Northumbria. The church tower dates from that time. The current church was built around 1720 in the Baroque style. The high altar, women's altar and cross altar come from the local Bletzacher family of artists. The organ was built by Ferdinand Fuchs in 1777 and expanded in 1954; the rococo facade was preserved.
