The "Waggon am Kulturgleis" (often referred to as the "Kulturwaggon") in Offenbach am Main reopened in March 2026 at its original location on the banks of the Main River. After a temporary closure and events held in "exile" due to planned dike renovations, the venue resumed operations at its familiar location for a "bonus season" from March until the end of June 2026, as the construction work is expected to be delayed. Important Information Address: Mainstraße 1 (corner of Schlossstraße), 63065 Offenbach am Main. Admission: Generally free, although donations for the artists ("hat donation") are expressly welcome. Atmosphere: A relaxed setting with a bar, live performances, and plenty of outdoor seating directly on the Main River. Program Highlights in March 2026 The program typically includes concerts, DJ sets, and film screenings. Currently Confirmed Dates: March 27, 2026: Live concert by the Michael Lukas Trio. Regular Events: Evenings with live music and rotating DJs are back, and the team is currently mourning the loss of long-time resident DJ Frankie Patella. Categories & Events Live Music & Concerts: The Waggon is known for niche music, from punk and jazz to electronic dance music. Film & Culture: Regular film screenings (e.g., "Solarpunk Story") and festivals like Lusofest (Portuguese-language film) are part of the regular program. Drinks & Bar: A selection of affordable drinks is available directly in the converted railway carriage.
