The trail (in the map "Hersbruck Circular Trail No. 1") is difficult to find or follow, at least currently (August 2025). Fallen wood is everywhere, and no path is visible. You have to "feel" your way a (short) way toward the "Westlicher Albrandweg."

Here at the Sittenbach you have a great view over to the Michelsberg and the spot is also on the Fuchsauweg, a hiking trail for families with children.

This is exactly where the Franconian Mountain Trail and the Franconian Mountain Trail meet and lead together to Hersbruck. There the Franconian Mountain Trail ends at the train station on the right. The Franconian Mountain Trail continues to the Danube. They start together at the "hiking hub" in Blankenstein, but immediately go in different directions. At this point the Franconian Mountain Trail has already covered over 425 km, the Franconian Mountain Trail a good half of that. And this is where their shared kilometer begins!!

The hiking car park and upper reservoir are completely closed until mid-2028 due to renovation of the reservoir!
