A really great lake, perfect for a hike. A leisurely walk around it takes about 1.5 hours.

The original Valepp Alm was built in 1739. The current houses were probably built between 18:00 and 18:50. Today, they are listed buildings. In 1919, it became the first ski base for the German Alpine Club (DAV). In 1939, a mountain hut, the Albert Link Hut, was built nearby. It was named after the then head of the DAV ski section.

Good starting point for hikes in the Spizing area

If you drive up Spitzingstraße, the first thing you'll reach is the Spitzingsattel parking lot. It's on the left side of the road. Take your parking ticket and drive through the barrier. Parking is very limited here, so there are often bottlenecks on peak days. From here, you can head to Brecherspitz, Obere Firstalm, Jägerkamp, and Aiplspitz. * Parking for up to 5 hours costs 8 euros. * Parking for 5-8 hours costs 1 euro per hour. * An additional 8 euros is charged for overnight stays.
