I am very surprised and impressed by the size of Wilhelmsburg, Fort XII; I hadn't expected that. The 200 m x 130 m castle was built between 1842 and 1849 as the centerpiece of the Ulm Federal Fortress. The citadel could accommodate 6,951 men, and the inner courtyard covers 1.3 hectares. The history of its post-military use is also interesting. Everything is well documented on site.

After the Bear Cave, the path climbs steeply, and there are currently many fallen trees in the way. You should be flexible and able to step over them or climb through the trees below. However, you shouldn't be afraid of heights. The path is very difficult with small children. However, the valley and the aqueduct are very beautiful and quickly make you forget your initial effort.

Not only does it connect two beautiful sections of the route, but it also blends harmoniously into the natural surroundings. The bridge offers a picturesque view of the Lonegraben and is a great place to pause and enjoy nature.
