Beautiful view of the lake. Simply put: breathtaking!

There was no traffic at all, unlike on the main road where the trucks thunder past.

The road is really good, and we didn't meet anyone. Only the first photo, with a view of the main road from above, seems inaccurate.

The locals often call this region "moj san" (my dream), and I think it's beautiful. This is a long traverse on soft ground with some rockier sections, where all you can see are mountains, wildflower fields, and little Katuns (shepherd summer cottages). When you reach the tarmac road leading to Nikšić, you can opt for a detour to see Kapetanovo Jezero (lake). It's all downhill from here!

Windmills are not always the best companions when looking for nature and remoteness. However, the Krnovo wind farm is Montenegro's first and one of the largest in the country. The electricity generated here is expected to help Montenegro achieve its renewable energy target of generating one-third of its total energy consumption from renewable energy sources by 2025!

Krupačko Lake is the largest and most beautiful bathing area in the continental part of Montenegro! Created in the middle of the 20th century for the needs of the hydroelectric power plant, the lake is fed with water from numerous surrounding springs, and its water is spotless. During the summer, the water temperature can reach 28 ºC! A cafe on the shore, with well-maintained volleyball and basketball courts. It's possible to kayak, pedal boat, canoe, and water ski, but it is also possible to fish, dive, ski, and swim. There's a promenade along the dam, and horseback riding is also available on Lake Krupac!

If you want to go from Nikšic to Savnik or vice versa, this route is highly recommended. Even racing bikes can enjoy the landscape here, very little traffic, fantastic views. I personally liked the even gradient as it is not so difficult to go uphill for 15 km 🚴😰

Be sure to avoid the main road if possible, then you will experience this country even more intensely 😄🐯🚴
