The Reuss is an important river in Switzerland, which originates in the canton of Uri and flows through Lake Uri, bringing fresh water into Lake Uri and is part of the river system that further drains into the Rhine via the Aare.

The Tellsplatte on Lake Uri is a central location in the William Tell legend. It is said that Tell left the boat here after his famous leap. Today, the Tell Chapel with its frescoes and the large carillon, which plays melodies hourly, stand there. The site offers impressive views of the lake and mountains and lies directly on the Swiss Path. It can be reached by boat, on foot from Sisikon or Flüelen, or via the Axenstrasse road.

The carillon at Tellsplatte in Sisikon is the largest in Switzerland. Its 37 bells play melodies hourly, controlled by magnetic hammers. It stands above the Tell Chapel directly on Lake Uri and is a popular stop on the Swiss Path. Visitors can choose from several pieces.

Lake Seelisberg is approximately 800 meters long and 37 meters deep. There's a lovely beach (admission required) with a lakeside kiosk and campsite.

Starting point for cycling and hiking tours with seating, bicycle service station and sculpture "Ursern - The Valley of the Three Passes".

The route along the Reuss River is particularly enjoyable. The loop can also be extended toward Flüelen.

Climbing the tower is worthwhile. The view is most beautiful early in the morning and at dusk. It's worth the detour!

The train journey between Disentis and Andermatt should definitely be included in any trip.
