Gut Ostberge in Dortmund is a historic former knight's estate whose origins date back to the Middle Ages. In the 14th century, the estate was owned by the Sobbe zu Villigst family. Today, the estate is known as an equestrian center (run by the Gödde family) and offers modern facilities for horses and riders.

"The Süggelwald forest is home to Dortmund's only wildlife enclosure. A family of fallow deer lives there. The deer are kept in an enclosure that is accessible at all times. They can also be easily observed from two elevated platforms. In addition, there are many interactive opportunities around the enclosure to discover the forest and its inhabitants. For example, there is a large display board with pictures of birds of prey. Visitors of all ages can use the board to measure the wingspan of the birds. There is also a large seesaw for balance exercises and a wooden hut for a snack break. The Grävingholz nature reserve is located in the immediate vicinity. A great diversity of species can be found in the wetlands that have formed in bomb craters.
