Frog Prince in the middle of the forest

The Aasee is a reservoir in Münster, Westphalia. With its surrounding meadows and forests, it is considered a local recreation area within the city. Perfect for relaxing and escaping the stresses of everyday life.

In 1872, construction began on a railway from Münster to Enschede. However, Häger didn't receive a stop, only a "guard's hut" (guard's hut 7). It wasn't until 1878 that Häger actually received its own stop, at the initiative of some farmers and landowners who wanted to bring their produce to the Münster weekly market. In 1903, a freight loading point was added to the stop.

The Poetry Trail is lined with ancient trees and hedges, offering beautiful views and custom-built wooden benches for resting at several points. It is particularly known for its romantic atmosphere and numerous stops for contemplating nature.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon in July (the first day of vacation), we were the only people here. But the water was teeming with life! It's a wonderful spot; I almost don't want to recommend it, so it stays this beautiful forever 🤩 The circular path is natural but well-maintained.

First and foremost, it is the Canada geese that stand out here and are not particularly shy.
