Whalley has been under media-spotlight recently as it boasts a large range of pubs, bars and restaurants. This has brought an unexpected tourism industry that is not always welcome. As groups of people visit at the week-ends for pub-crawls and other antics. The Dog Inn remains a very local pub. And won't tolerate that type of behavior. But well-behaved muddy paws and boots are welcome.

The old bridge leading into Waddington/Brungerly park. From here you can also venture into Waddow Hall.

Churn Clough Reservoir, constructed in the late 19th century and expanded during the 1920s, serves as a popular fishing destination. Encircling the reservoir, a well-maintained footpath offers a pleasant route for leisurely walks and exploration of the surrounding woodland.

Whalley Abbey is a former Cistercian Abbey. After the dissolution of the monasteries the abbey was demolished with a country house built on the site.

Footbridge taking you from the quiet Waddington back road into the low moor area of clitheroe. You can choose to use the footpath to head into town or stay off road in the fields towards the cemetery.
