Angel Falls drops about 70 to 80 feet off a rugged cliff face, surrounded by hemlock trees. Stand close to this wide waterfall on a hot day, and the mist coming off the falls will surely cool you down.

You look north from here across a forest of white birch trees falling down the mountain toward Little Slate Run.

The Black Forest Trail follows orange blazes for its entire 42-mile length. Here it intersects with the old Gas Line Trail.

From here you can see across the valley formed by Naval Run to Hemlock Mountain and the Black Forest Trail.

Gillespie Point is a popular hiking destination. The trail leading up to it is part of the Mid-State Trail, so follow the orange blaze. This will take you to a scenic overlook with panoramic views of the surrounding area, including Pine Creek and the canyon.
