Potomac River Branch is one of the first highlights along the Seneca Rocks Trail.

The High Knob Fire Tower is a historic tower constructed with rocks from the Shenandoah Mountains by Civilian Conservation Corps workers and World War I veterans. The tower is the only stone fire tower in Virginia, which makes it a unique place to appreciate views of George Washington National Forest.

Look to the east for an unobstructed view of both the north and south Tuscarora quartzite fins of Seneca Rocks.

There is a large observation deck on the north side of Seneca Rocks, just below the crags, that looks out over the valley to the west. It is discouraged to hike farther without proper climbing experience and gear.

With an elevation of 4,863 feet Spruce Knob is the highest point in West Virginia. The observation tower offers amazing views over the Appalachians – it's worth walking up the steps of the tower!

Whilst most of the Huckleberry trail is mainly through the woods, there is a cut through the trees at this point, allowing for a beautiful view over the Seneca Creek valley. Paired with a blue sky and fall colours, it is an opportunity for a great picture.
