This large park has many dedicated baseball and soccer fields along with hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a small lake.

On the northern edge of Bonnie Wenk Park is this small lake with a fountain in the middle. It's generally less busy out here compared to the main section of the park so it's a good place to head for a bit of tranquility.

This small 5-acre pond is open for fishing to those with a Texas fishing license. It's near the amphitheater so you can catch some fish while listening to some music.

This is a sprawling, tranquil park with miles of paved multi-use trails which wrap around the creek and fishing ponds. The trail network extends up and down Wilson Creek and takes you over five miles across most of McKinney. There are restrooms, a playground, dog park, and amphitheater.

There is a great little dirt nature trail to explore that takes you close to the river. This is a pretty spot and usually pretty quiet.

This is a great scenic spot to stretch out on the grass before or after your run. The architecture and views of the fishing pond are beautiful, and there are a few shady spots.

The Spring Creek Nature Area covers over 100 acres of beautiful hardwood forest, thanks to a generous donation of 51 acres from the Margaret Hunt Hill family in 1991. Its history is rich, stretching back to the time of the Caddo Indians and early settlers like Jacob Routh. Routh, who arrived from Tennessee in 1849, set up shop between Dallas and McKinney, running a store and inn. Despite farming the surrounding land, he wisely left the forest untouched, preserving it as a haven for wildlife.
