Chapin Forest Reservation is a beautiful nature preserve full of oak and maple trees. There are several trails that cut through the woods and multiple viewpoints.

The Holden Arboretum is one of the largest arboreta in the United States located in Kirtland, Ohio. Spanning over 3,500 acres, it features a diverse collection of trees, shrubs, and plants, with a focus on preserving and studying woody plants. The arboretum offers visitors the chance to explore various gardens, trails, and natural landscapes. Notable attractions include the Murch Canopy Walk, a suspension bridge that takes visitors through the treetops, providing a unique perspective of the forest. The Holden Arboretum also collaborates on research and conservation efforts, contributing to the understanding and preservation of plant life.

The area provides over 6 miles of trails through mature oak and maple trees, providing some of the best views in the Lake County area. During winter, you'll find plenty of people on the trails engaging in snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

The trails meandering through the woods at Girdled Road Reservation were intended to be excellent bird-watching trails. Some of the wetland environments along the way add to the diversity of nature you'll find here.

This gatehouse was built in the 1890s for a former executive of an oil company in Cleveland. The manor is modeled after German and English style castles of the time. The lawns of the house are a popular destination for picnic goers in the summer.
