With this overlooking position, we have a beautiful view of Aveyron bordered by forests towards Bruniquel.

This medieval town is perched on top of a cliff, in the heart of the Aveyron gorges. Bruniquel is labeled “Most beautiful villages in France”. Among its best assets are its imposing castle, its corbelled or half-timbered houses, its turrets, its mullioned windows and its flowery streets.

Bruniquel is a commune in the Tarn-et-Garonne department of France and has a population of 561. The place is part of the district of Montauban. Bruniquel has been recognized by Les Plus Beaux Villages de France as one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Magnificent site, like all the bastides of 81 and 82. Each has its own particularity. Bruniquel has its castle, famous for Queen Brunehaut, a historical figure who entered the legend and the film Le Vieux Fusil with Romy Schneider and the magnificent interpretation of Philippe Noiret.

The very close Bruniquel cave cannot be visited, but on the other hand you can visit a room in the castle dedicated to the archaeological finds of the cave occupied by Neanderthal.

Pretty village worth the climb. If the cafes are closed, then you can find water in the cemetery next to the church.

There is a vélo route that extends north from this bridge. South of this route for 30 km is an absolutely beautiful, fairly quiet road that winds through thick forested hills, highly recommended!
