The descent in the direction of Bötzingen is one of the few routes in a wide area on which you can reach speeds of more than 80 kilometers per hour relatively safely and this is also justifiable from the safety point of view. Although the Black Forest offers many roads with a higher gradient, these are often narrower and, above all, more curvy.

The Rinken at 1196 m altitude or the pass of the same name is located at the northern foot of the Feldberg.
