Haideburg Hunting Lodge in the Mosigkau Heath near Dessau-Roßlau. Information: Built between 1782 and 1783, this two-story brick building is designed in the Neo-Gothic style. It is believed to have been modeled on a smaller version of the Prussian coronation palace in Königsberg. An extension and several outbuildings were added in 1903.

The ruins of St. Nicholas Church are one of the most striking memorials in Zerbst's history. Originally a medieval town church, it dominated the market square for centuries and served as a central spiritual and social hub. St. Nicholas Church was severely damaged in the 1945 air raid on Zerbst and was never rebuilt. Today, the church remains as a secured ruin. Exposed walls, window arches, and the missing roof structure make the destruction visible and lend the site a unique, serene atmosphere. The ruins serve as a memorial and place of remembrance, as well as a venue for exhibitions and cultural events. They connect the historical depth of the town with an open approach to loss, remembrance, and new beginnings.

The moated castle is now a retirement home. The adjacent castle park is in poor condition.

A truly worthwhile gem. Open Monday to Friday, morning until afternoon. Tower tours cost €3 per person. Weddings are also permitted here.
