The information center is free to enter and is located at the Heimkehle Nature Discovery Cave near Uftrungen. The Heimkehle Visitor Center is open from April to October, Tuesdays to Sundays and on public holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; from November to March, it is open from Wednesdays to Sundays and on public holidays, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The staff there were very friendly, and we received a lot of interesting information.

To me, it seemed as if someone had dug a small home here. A living cave, a sleeping niche, a miniature table... People used to be much smaller... I don't think anyone knows what it was like anymore. It was very touching for me... 🙏

Great rock outcrop, everything worth knowing is on an information board, it's just a shame it's not very well maintained and a place to sit would be nice, it's a great place.🫶
