From the Schauinsland Hut, you have a fantastic view of the Fulda Valley and Rotenburg. The Schauinsland Hut is not too far from the PILZCHEN. The hut is a lovely rest stop for hikes and mountain bike tours, and is also ideal for a picnic.

The Schauinsland Hut, aptly named, is an ideal place to stop for a rest during mountain bike tours and hikes. Located at the highest point of the Rotenburg R2 hiking trail, it offers a magnificent view of the Fulda Valley and the opposite side, towards the HKZ and Alheimer.

Be sure to try the pea soup. A delicious snack before crossing the bridge.

The beautiful Eichhorn Trail begins at the Rasenbankbuche shelter. I highly recommend it!
