From this point on the Brandis irrigation channel, a sunny path that runs along an ancient watercourse used to irrigate the fields, you have a splendid view towards Lana, the crops and the Adige valley. At least in part, the water of the Brandis irrigation channel has now been piped and flows invisible to the eye.

Once you get up there from Niederlana (right at the bottom), you've almost made it. But the climb (no matter which way you go) is brutal. 15% gradient in places

The Waalweg is also always kept in good condition. This year I was very surprised that one of the bridges is completely new, then there is a new stone guard - they really do everything here.

When I'm here in mid-September, they're full of kiwis (but they're not ripe yet). And please, don't pick them! That's the farmers' income. Think about how many guests come here every day / week / on their autumn holiday? If only every third person picked a kiwi, the farmer would have nothing left to harvest!
