그래블 바이크 라이딩은 주로 강 시스템과 운하 길을 따라 이어지는 경로가 특징이며, 이는 프랑스 솜(Somme) 지역의 전형적인 모습입니다. 지형은 대체로 평평하거나 완만하게 구불구불하며 고도 상승이 크지 않아 상당한 오르막 없이도 장거리를 달리기에 적합합니다. 경로는 포장된 노면과 비포장 노면이 혼합된 기존의 자전거 도로와 제방길을 이용하는 경우가 많습니다. 주변에는 물길을 따라 늘어선 나무가 있는 구간과 함께 탁 트인 농경지가 펼쳐져 있으며, 포레 드 라구(Forêt de Laigue)와 포레 드 콩피에뉴(Forêt de Compiègne)와 같은 인근 숲이 풍경을 더합니다.
