Tour of Lake Ribou completed on August 1, 2025. I'd had it on my radar for years. A beautiful lake that provides fresh water to Cholet residents' taps. 11 km on a green-marked trail. Worth a look for its viaduct and numerous blackberry hedges.

The Étang de Péronne is a nature reserve in the heart of the forest. You can walk around the pond on a 2.4 km trail and admire the century-old oak trees, water lilies and various birds. The lake is home to many protected and endangered species; so be respectful and don't disturb them. You can also explore the surrounding woods, where you may encounter deer, wild boars or even hear the bellowing of a deer. You can take a 4km loop around the lake, taking in views of the water, forest and wildlife. Along the route, you will also find picnic tables, a playground, a fitness trail and a geocaching game.
