The Ruban Vert greenway follows the old Niort–Ruffec railway line, offering an accessible loop between Melle and Celles-sur-Belle, over approximately 9km of stabilized sand. The path winds through countryside, stone walls, shaded bridges and wooded passages, with a picnic area near the Chaillots pond. Accessible to cyclists, hikers and horse riders.

The Aulany forest covers approximately 2,000 hectares, shared between Charente-Maritime and Deux-Sèvres. Composed mainly of oaks and beeches, it is home to quite rich flora and fauna. It was also one of the most remarkable beech forests in the region, before the storm of 1999. The massif, under reconstruction, is one of the Natura 2000 sites in Charente-Maritime. You can discover remains from the Neolithic period, particularly around Aulnay.

Tiller means a chestnut tree grafted for fruit production; teurtous comes from the local patois and means to everyone, to all. The dimensions are impressive with a circumference of 16 meters at the base. Experts estimate its age at 600 or even 700 years.

Saint-Romans-lès-Melle is a French commune, which leads three scallops in the coat of arms. The most important sight is the 12th-century church of Saint-Romans. It is a charming 12th century church off the village in a cool valley. Note the south orientation of the apse. The apse is designed in a straight line with three windows without ornamentation. A squat bell tower (15th century) completes the building. The overview of the northwestern church allows you to see the heart of the building: the western portal crowned by a strip of modillons.
