Anyone who wants to visit the Tour de Ronde must first pay a small fee of CHF 2 (as of 2026) into a cash box at the turnstile. Only then will the mechanism turn and grant access to the keep. The tower is 25 meters high from base to tip. At a height of 20 meters, there is a 360° viewing platform. The way up leads via a spiral staircase, which is alternately illuminated with colors. Sound effects are heard in the background, giving the whole thing an atmospheric touch. But beware! The last section to the platform is so narrow that you touch the walls with your shoulders on the sides. People with claustrophobia will reach their limits here. The platform itself, however, offers enough space for two people to pass each other. The view over the Orbe plain is a real feast for the eyes in beautiful, clear weather. Even the Mont Blanc massif is recognizable with the naked eye. However, the view over the roofs and alleys of the old town is particularly impressive. The stay on the platform is not time-limited.

The Tour Ronde in Orbe is a historic tower dating back to 1233 and is part of the old castle of the city. This tower offers a breathtaking 360° view over the rooftops of Orbe, the Jura mountains and the Alps12. From the top of the tower you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding landscapes, including the vast plain of the Orbe and the vineyards of the Côtes de l’Orbe.

The horse museum in the outbuildings shows horse-drawn vehicles and highlights the role of the horse and harness in warfare, in the circus, in hunting with greyhounds, etc.

This castle is located in a park above the village and dates back to the 11th century. It was renovated in the 15th and 16th centuries. In front of the living area with two round corner turrets there are two heavy square towers with aisles.
