The restaurant was still closed in August 2025 and was already visibly dilapidated. However, the climb is still worth it for the magnificent view.

Unfortunately, everything is now closed (according to Trip Advisor there used to be a wine cellar in 2016) - but the tour is still beautiful.

Great views of the surrounding mountains and the Bernina Pass. The trail there is easy to walk.

We started from Prato Valentino, a long but not demanding route. Very beautiful! Also, despite it being November, the temperatures were around 20 degrees

Sassal Masone is a refuge with beautiful stone houses with an incredible panoramic terrace, easily reachable from the Bernina Hospice. From here you can enjoy a splendid view of the valley and the Palü glacier. The restaurant is unfortunately closed.

The flat pass of Colle d'Anzana offers a fantastic panorama and marks the border between Switzerland and Italy, uniting Valposchiavo with Teglio in Valtellina. It is one of the easiest steps to pass from Italy to Switzerland and has therefore always been linked to smuggling. During the Second World War, it was one of the most frequent escape routes chosen by Jews fleeing from Italy.
