A very beautiful, recently renovated castle, but unfortunately private and not accessible. The surrounding area is also home to beautiful houses and grounds.

The entire castle complex is accessible only for booked events. In the small house at the front, there is a castle bakery and café.

Bischofszell Castle was originally the bishop's castle. The lower part of the residential building dates back to the 13th century, while the upper part was built after the town fire of 1419. The eastern extension dates from 1813.

The baroque old town boasts sights such as the town hall, built between 1747 and 1750, with its rich Rococo decorations, and the 14th-century Church of St. Pelagius. The Thur Bridge, built in 1487, is one of the most important late medieval bridges in Switzerland. In the 9th century, Bischofszell was given the name Episcopalicella by its founder, Bishop Salomo. This translates as "the bishop's cell." Bischofszell Castle was the bishop's castle and dates back to the 13th century.

A very varied and interesting hike with good signage and paths

This is a wonderful route when you have a view of the Alps, as you have the magnificent panorama almost continuously in front of you.
