Downtown Jamestown is full of historic buildings. The city was a hub for timber, furniture building and bricks in the 1800 and 1900s, so there are still many remnants of this time around town. The city was also home to Lucille Ball, so there is a museum dedicated to her.

The Laurie A. Baer segment of the Chautauqua Rails To Trails is an unpaved section that cuts through dense forest. The trail is well-marked, but does have some slight elevation gain, so that section can be somewhat challenging.

Lucille Ball Memorial Park is a nice, small village park on the banks of Chautauqua Lake. Celoron is the hometown of Lucille Ball, so there are several statues in the park in honor of the actor.

Chautauqua Gorge is a beautiful gorge in Chautauqua County. From the trails of the state park, you get some good views of the gorge through the trees.

Chautauqua Gorge State Forest is a 538-acre state forest that is popular for hiking, cross-country skiing and fishing. The park has many miles of trails, a primitive campsite and picnic area.

This historic site is recommended because a girl named Graces Bedell, to whom President Lincoln wrote a letter saying, "Grow a beard and your face won't look so thin."
