If you're lucky, you might also spot the tichodrome, a rare and colorful bird that lives on the cliff and gives its name to the via ferrata. The tichodrome has a red bill, a black head, a gray back and orange wings which contrast with the green vegetation of the cliff. It is a protected species, which is why the via ferrata is closed from January 1 to June 30 to respect its reproduction period.
