Laufen still has three city gates today, which are called the Obertor or Delsbergertor, Untertor or Baslertor and Wassertor. The latter is not immediately found as it is in a side street. It forms a connection between the old town and the swirling Birs. The side facing the city is of a sober nature. Only when you look at the outside of the Wassertor does you see its medieval character.

The Pfeffingen ruins stand on the ridge of the Blauen in Pfeffingen in the canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland. The ruins of the hilltop castle are the remains of the imposing palace and castle, which were once the headquarters of the Counts of Thierstein-Pfeffingen.
