This small glacier is wonderfully nestled in the heart of the Cagateille cirque. It is surrounded by snow-capped peaks. It is a great hiking objective but also a place to take a break during a longer walking stage.

Superb pass, relatively flat, which gives the feeling of arriving on a small high plateau. You will have to share the view with the herds in the summer pastures, but this adds an element of authenticity to the picture.

The village of Couflens is structured by the course of the Salat which flows into the Garonne. Couflens is located in an area of ecological, fauna and flora interest, more precisely at the foot of the Mont Valier massif which is home to a Natura 2000 area.

Labouche is a pretty little mountain hamlet. I particularly recommend spending the night at the Labouche gîte. Several types of accommodation are possible, ranging from a permanent cabin to a cabin tent.

The Etang d'Alet is one of the deepest lakes in the Pyrenees since it reaches 62m deep.

The pond overlooking the Cirque de Cagateille is a nice reward during a trail.

Obviously less known than the Cirque de Gavarnie, the Cirque de Cagateille is nonetheless one of the most beautiful glacial cirques in the Pyrenees.
