Conclusion The Oujda – Taghjirt – Oujda loop is an unmissable outing for any cyclist seeking authenticity. It combines physical exertion, cultural discovery, and immersion in unspoiled nature. Taghjirt, in the heart of the Beni Znassen mountains, is much more than just a place to pass through: it's a gateway to the history, society, and biodiversity of Eastern Morocco. I highly recommend that my fellow cyclists from around the world come and explore these mountains, experience the warm welcome of the locals, meet passionate guides like Mr. Chihi Yassine, who is also a metal detectorist (see his discoveries of ancient coins in the appendix), and let themselves be captivated by the breathtaking landscapes.

The road up to the castle is not particularly good. Large potholes and washouts

From Aïn Draham, climb up to Faj Errih and take the higher road across the village. From there, the road goes from hamlet to hamlet. There is hardly any car. The views on both sides is absolutely fantastic. One can see Algeria in the background. I set up camp in the cork oak forest near the road. Towards the end, you can take the dirt path on the left to stay on the north of the ridge.
