Done on August 23 at 27° on the way up from Champéry under “green” cover and welcoming trees. At the pass a superb Franco-Swiss panoramic view. On the way down...full sun, but cheerful streams and a few fountains. A wonderful loop.

Superb pass which allows you to observe several geographical levels, alpine and snow. The flora at the pass is similar to that of a tundra, only a few grasses, mosses and flowers still grow there. Higher up, the schistose and snow-capped mountains deploy all their verticality. Several paths lead there, the most classic from the Bostan refuge, but also by the Pas de la Bide towards Switzerland. It provides access to the Dents Blanches normals in mountaineering, or Pas au Taureau, a fairly steep and snowy pass from its northern slope.

This circuit (very nice) does not go through the Col de Cou but through the Cantine de Sur Coux (small restaurant to recommend). It is also possible to climb to the Col but it is elsewhere and more sporty!
