Assunpink Lake spans 225 acres and is man-made. It was created in 1970 after the damming of Assunpink Creek. Fishermen come to this county because of all the lakes, and this is one of them, stocked with channel catfish, largemouth bass, and yellow perch.

McCarter Pond is a small neighborhood pond off the side of Fair Haven Road. There is a tiny parking area for just a few cars on the western end of the reservoir that also features a picnic table and view out onto the water.

The Manasquan Reservoir is a 770-acre reservoir that provides recreational activities and serves as a water source for local municipalities. It's worth noting that there is a bicycle repair station at the trailhead kiosk near the Visitor Center.

The park boasts a variety of natural features, including rolling hills, open meadows, wetlands, and a namesake stream, Big Brook. The two ponds here provide a relaxing spot to rest and enjoy the scenery.

Lake Takanassee is actually made up of a group of reservoirs stretching from Lake Takanassee Park all the way to the ocean. You get a great view of the lowest (and biggest) lake from the Shore Tour North bike route.
