Nice castle especially during the antique market

The castle consists of two bodies placed next to each other at right angles. At the two corners of the first body, covered with a gable roof, lower than the second body, there are two cylindrical projecting turrets, the crown of which (certainly a pepperpot roof) has disappeared. Mullions appear on the upper floor, while simple openings open, probably later, on the ground floor.

If you are traveling on the GR65, you must make the small detour of about 2 km to visit Larressingle. The Gascons call this little place "Carcassonne du Gers". It is a fine example of the region's fortified villages. The place consists of several houses, the castle and the castle church. It is completely surrounded by an intact fortification wall and a moat. Construction of Larrissingle began in 1286. It was there that the Abbots of Lectoure found a safe place. In the 16th century, however, the abbots got a new country seat. Larrissingle was meaningless after that and time still seems to have stood still. A beautiful, authentic example of the Middle Ages.
