The Waldgasthof's website states that it is also served by public transport. The PubliCar runs between Lehmen and Weissbad and must be reserved in advance by calling 0848 55 30 60. From Weissbad, you can then continue your journey on the Appenzell Railway.

Potersalp is a large alpine pasture area near Chammhalde. The path leads past several alpine huts that are used for grazing during the summer months. The location of the flat alpine meadows is impressive, as the steep north faces of the Säntis mountain range can be admired in the immediate vicinity!

If the flag is hoisted in front of the Chammhaldenhütte, then you can look forward to a stop. The club hut is sometimes open on weekends. Since summer 2024, the inn's exterior has been completely renovated and looks very beautiful and colorful. Older photos are therefore no longer up-to-date, but the food is still superb and comparatively reasonably priced.

The Chammhalden SAC Hut is located at an elevation of 1,394 meters. The Chammhalden Hut is a club hut and is open to members and guests on weekends. Generally, when the flag is raised, the hut is staffed.

The Kronberg mountain inn is located right at the Kronberg summit (1663) and is also the mountain station of the Jakobsbad-Kronberg cable car. There are several ascents, the most common of which is via Scheidegg and St. Jakob. The view from the terrace to the Alpstein is always worth the climb or ascent. [The description below from Wikipedia refers to the Kronberg as a whole, not to the mountain inn]
