It's very nice to see on the running route, first a forest and meadow, then suddenly a small village. It's almost a shame that no one lives here.

This is actually about Schönbusch Palace. It was built starting in 1778 and was completed around 1788. The Elector Archbishop of Mainz, Friedrich Karl von Erthal (r. 1774–1802), commissioned this neoclassical summer palace to be built by the architect Emanuel Joseph von Herigoyen (1746–1817). He also designed the other park buildings in Schönbusch Landscape Park. Schönbusch Palace and Johannisburg Palace. Although both palaces are part of the Aschaffenburg palace complex, they are independent complexes with different histories and architecture. The small village consists of a few old houses that were built in a different era. The adjacent stable still houses a few cattle. The village fountain is unfortunately dry and is now just an ornament in itself.
