An old stone shelter standing alongside a small chapel, ideal for getting out of the elements or a spot to grab a snack, although it isn't set up for sleeping in. There is a fountain with drinkable water and toilets just a few metres away.

Up on this 1,300-metre (3,280 ft) high plateau, the gravel tracks are smooth and fast rolling, spanning out across the landscape, the views far reaching on a clear day. The subtle contours and open terrain give little indication of how high you are, only the morning chill gives it away.

Saint-Roch is the most represented saint on the paths of Saint-Jacques. He is the patron saint of pilgrims. His story is tragic. Suffering from the Black Death, he warns passers-by that he is contagious by pointing with his finger to a bubo on his left thigh. He is always represented accompanied by his little dog who is in charge of bringing him food. The statues of Saint-Roch are numerous. This one is beautifully made.
