A refuge on Lago Santo Parmense. Located in a magnificent setting, it's a delightful place to stop. It's managed; all the information is on the website. It can be reached on foot or by chairlift from Lagdei.

There's not much to say here. Lago Santo is on the list of top places in our Apennines. A quick web search and a few photos are all it takes to understand what it's all about.

At the end, there was relief—and the certainty of having experienced something truly special. The ridge was not only a challenge, but also the most beautiful thing we've hiked so far: wild, majestic, and unforgettable. 🌄⛰️🌫️

But from kilometer 7 onward, everything changed: thick fog closed in around us, and visibility shrank to barely 10 meters. Suddenly, every step was deliberate; full concentration and mutual support were required. For the last 6 kilometers, we moved along the ridge with extreme caution, always mindful of potential falls.

A breathtaking ridge hike across the peaks of Orsaro, Braiola, Marmagna, Aquila, Bosco, and Aquilo in the Apennines. Even the start was a dream – magnificent panoramic views, clouds clinging to the flanks, and the constant feeling of walking among the clouds and simultaneously above them. An interplay of sun, fog, and distant views left us speechless.

Convenient and quick, even if very crowded. I recommend the venison pappardelle and spongata.

Beautiful place, too crowded for my taste especially on weekends given the possibility of arriving by car. If you have never been, a visit is a must.
