To be clear, this is not the top of Grouse Mountain, but merely the furthest you can climb by bicycle on a paved road. Here, you'll find a parking lot, washrooms, a water dispenser, a coffee shop, and the base of the Skyride gondola. To get to the top of Grouse Mountain where the views and tourist attractions are, you'll need to either take a gondola ride, hike up the Grouse Grind Trail (https://komoot.com/smarttour/e1816863835), or hike the BCMC Trail (https://komoot.com/highlight/3718910). It is also possible to ride a bike to the top, not through here, but by taking Mountain Highway to the unpaved Grouse Mountain Highway.

Unmissable, yes this sign is legendary! We did the excursion from the Griffith Observatory and the trail is not particularly well indicated. The walk is nice (a little sporty) but at times the path is very narrow, lost in the vegetation and I admit that with the risk of fires you have to be vigilant. Don't forget to bring enough water. Excursion made at the beginning of September 2024, it was a heatwave.

Awesome spot for a 360 view! Just note, there's no shade up there. Take your breaks in shade on the road up and then stay for the views and wind.

Awesome spot. There's no shade and a lot of sun exposure coming to this spot from Cahuenga Peak. Stay hydrated and wear sun protection.

A wonderful place to visit, it's currently easier to access by vehicle (to a certain extent) and with parking. However, if you're someone who enjoys climbing mountains over 4,000 meters from the bottom, I'm sure you'll love the challenge. Don't forget that these are mountains, and weather changes can happen at unexpected times, so it's best to be prepared for anything, bringing hydration and food necessary for the effort and the weather. In the craters, you'll find two bodies of fresh water that form the Laguna del Sol and Laguna de la Luna. In the 1990s, you could dive at altitude in the icy waters. Visibility is very low, so it was done with instruments and good orientation, a dry suit, or a wetsuit for icy waters. Currently, only research personnel can do so with a special permit, as it is an ecological and archaeological reserve. Admission is fee-based, and on weekends, it's very crowded, so be patient and always respect the place. Leave it better than you found it, and enjoy! You can also get there by gravel bike or mountain bike, but achieving this requires good training due to the incline and altitude. Always remember: Respect the Mountain.

Be sure to bring your rain gear! There's a small shelter, but it's usually full.

The climb is long and gets steeper and rockier. But it's fun. At the top you're not only sweating, but also (at least on our warm day of ascent in a T-shirt) wet to the skin due to the high humidity. But as I said, it's fun and doable.
