The Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) itself is truly impressive. Even without bright sunshine, the temple covered in gold leaf has a very special look and is beautifully reflected in the pond in front of it. The combination of the golden building, the tranquil water, and the gardens makes the place a real highlight.

Hoan Kiem Lake (translated as "Lake of the Returned Sword") is a central landmark in the heart of Hanoi, Vietnam, and a popular spot for strolling and relaxation. The lake's name derives from a legend in which Emperor Le Loi encountered a golden turtle that presented him with a magical sword. After defeating the Ming invaders, he returned to the lake, where the turtle reclaimed the sword, symbolizing peace. The revered Ngoc Son Temple (Temple of the Jade Beam) is located on a small island in the lake and is accessible via the iconic, bright red Huc Bridge (Bridge of the Sunbeam). Entrance to the temple costs approximately 30,000 VND.

The Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) is a stunning Zen Buddhist temple in northern Kyoto, famous for its Reliquary Hall whose top two floors are completely covered in dazzling gold leaf. Originally built in 1397 as a retirement villa for the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, it was converted into a Zen temple after his death. The pavilion is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see because its shimmering golden facade, topped with a bronze phoenix, creates a breathtaking reflection in the tranquil Kyōko-chi (Mirror Pond), making it one of the most iconic and photogenic sights in Japan, particularly beautiful when surrounded by the unique colors of each season, including snow in winter. The three stories of the pavilion brilliantly incorporate three distinct architectural styles—palace, samurai, and Zen—symbolizing the opulence and cultural fusion of the period.

Today we went on a night jungle trip in Khao Sok with our family. We were given a flashlight and a guide took care of us. It wasn't difficult. We only saw small animals - snakes, centipedes, spiders, monkeys and moths. But it was still very interesting. Tomorrow we will go on a day trek 😃👍🙋🏼

The name of this national park comes from the combination of Ban Sop, the house of dead bodies, but Khao Sok is full of life and breathtaking nature. It would have been enough for visitors to never know the beauty of the tropical jungle here. However, the local ecosystem was saved by disease and the turbulent events that Thailand went through in the mid-1970s. In 1944, an epidemic hit the Khao Sok area, killing a large part of the local population, the rest then left and the local landscape remained deserted.
