From this point, you get a wide view of the Söderåsen gorge and the surrounding forest. It’s a good spot to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and take photos.

Hovdala Castle is a historic castle with origins dating back to the 11th century. The current castle is a well-preserved cultural site famous for its role in 17th-century conflicts, with bullet holes still visible in its gate tower. Today, the castle is a popular visitor destination with a beautiful park, gardens, and a network of hiking trails in the surrounding Hovdala Nature Area.

Skånes Djurpark is a very special zoo dedicated exclusively to Nordic animals. It offers you a rewarding break from the saddle to see moose, wolves, and other wildlife.

Hjortsprånget, within Sweden's Söderåsen National Park, is a viewpoint offering dramatic panoramic views of the Skäralid gorge. The location was historically used for deer hunting and it might be less crowded than other park highlights.

Härsnäsdammarna is a pond nestled within Söderåsen National Park, surrounded by lush forest landscapes. These former fishing ponds now provide a peaceful retreat for hikers and cyclists, thanks to the many trails winding through the area, revealing serene waters and abundant wildlife.

Between the large parking lot and the entrance to Söderåsen National Park, the information center offers information about local excursions and events from Easter to October, as well as brochures about the area. A signpost also points you to restrooms, where you'll also find drinking water.

Beach with a large parking lot along the road. At the north end of the beach (on the right-hand side when viewed from the road) there is a beautifully mown, fenced-off lawn that is perfect for camping. Whether this is officially intended remains to be seen. At least nobody has anything against it, although someone who was apparently in charge was briefly on site during my stay.
