베르제르샤토 성 (포르트레스 드 베르제라고도 함)은 남부 부르고뉴에서 가장 크고 가장 잘 보존된 중세 성입니다. 이 유적지는 10세기 카스트룸으로 거슬러 올라가며, 근처의 강력한 클루니 수도원을 보호하기 위해 전략적으로 바위 돌출부에 세워졌습니다. 요새는 세 개의 성벽으로 구성되어 있으며 13개의 탑(두 개의 베르프리트/돈존 포함)과 인상적인 문지기 집이 있습니다. 내부의 중심에는 주목할 만한 카롤링거 시대의 예배당이 있습니다.

The town of Cluny was based on the Benedictine monastery (Cluniac Abbey), founded in 910. The abbey was the starting point and center of the Cluniac reform at the beginning of the 10th century. Cluny reached its peak membership at the beginning of the 12th century with approximately 400 monks. The last abbey church (Cluniac 3) was the world's largest Romanesque basilica and, until the construction of today's St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, the largest church in Christendom. The church had seven towers. Although large parts of the building were destroyed, the remaining relics are absolutely remarkable and make a visit to Cluny an unforgettable experience!
