On the occasion of the patronal feast found here – the popular pilgrimage church in the Graz area is dedicated to "The Nativity of Mary" – I would like to offer those staying here a short reflection by Saint John of Damascus (born 675/676, died before 754): "The day of the birth of the Mother of God is a day of universal joy, for through the Mother of God the entire human race was renewed and the suffering of the first mother, Eve, was transformed into joy."

The unique location in the heart of the Schaftal Valley and the particularly beautiful outdoor dining area make a visit to the Griesbauer a wonderful experience for all ages. The unique playground, which has become an integral part of Griesbauer's experience, also contributes to this. The forest path offers families another exciting attraction and a varied opportunity for outdoor recreation. Traditional Styrian cuisine is served, and quality wines from Styria and Burgenland can be enjoyed alongside the meals.

Since the beginning of 2018, ten horseshoe sculptures have been erected in the Weiz-Gleisdorf energy region as part of the LEADER project "Kunst.Hot.Spot." The total project volume amounts to €85,500, 60 percent of which is funded by LEADER funds. It all began in the municipality of Naas with the ceremonial opening of a Styrian panther in July 2018. Eight more horseshoe sculptures followed in the municipalities of Thannhausen, Puch bei Weiz, St. Ruprecht an der Raab, Hofstätten an der Raab, Mitterdorf an der Raab, Mortantsch, Gleisdorf, and Weiz. The ten sculptures represent a Styrian panther. Panther with municipal coat of arms (Naas), mother cow with calf (Thannhausen), apple with heart (Puch), book and viola (St. Ruprecht/R.), squirrel (Hofstätten), municipal coat of arms in 3D (Mitterdorf), mouflon (Mortantsch), Styrian panther with municipal logo (Gleisdorf), Weiz "W" and the Styrian panther with apple.
