For a fairly long stretch, you can travel back and forth in the valley on the still-existing tracks on the Dreysene. The acacia shoots make the ride interesting for those sitting on the tree side, and there are plenty of views of the valley.

The place is nice with beautiful paths but watch out for punctures. Twice on the paths I got a flat tire because of large thorns.

The dune path is actually in the dunes, so it's protected and off-limits to bicycles. While it's a nice alternative to using the road, it's better not to promote its use on a social network like Komoot, as this risks 1. damaging the protected natural area 2. having access prohibited. magnificent viewpoint

A truly moving and humbling experience. That such a beautiful location as this could have been the site of so much carnage, bravery and loss is incredible. The monument has been long awaited and whilst it can be very sad to see, it is also uplifting to know that all those brave souls will forever be remembered. Access to the site is easy, pay parking available with profits to the charity, toilets are on site and a small museum offers lots of information about Overlord and its Heroes as well as a shop and a café.
