Personally, I don't really like going through this roundabout. Coming from St Niziers, you can turn left before, to go towards Villard.

Lans is a very pretty village in the Vercors, the resort is at Côte 2000, a little higher up. It's not necessarily the best starting point for a bike ride. We prefer Villard de Lans, which offers a multitude of routes.

the viewpoint is only visible on the way down, on the way up you have it behind you

From this forest path, we discover a pretty viewpoint over Lans en Vercors, and its domain called "the eagles". Preferably take it at the end of the afternoon (in summer), because this slope will be in the shade.

Nice place to cool off on a small pebble beach just before the bridge when it's a heatwave!

The coolness in these gorges is much appreciated when it's close to a heatwave on the plains! And the wild atmosphere of the small road through these gorges (before reaching a busy road for a beautiful descent) is good (a little "kick in the ass" to get out!).
