Gravel section with 40mm tires. (Caracal Hutchinson) In a very dry period (end of June), nothing to complain about in the St Hilaire/Col de Marcieu direction.

Conditionally recommended: Definitely recommended on a mountain bike. Relatively bumpy on a gravel bike. But doable with 45-inch tires and 2.5 bar pressure. There are few views along the trail, however, as it leads through dense forest.

Between Belledonne and the valleys, the Flumet basin is an artificial body of water nestled in a natural setting. Easily accessible from Allevard, it offers a flat, shaded path, perfect for a short bike ride or a moment of relaxation. Along the way, you'll walk along the tranquil banks, with views of the surrounding peaks.
