Part of the Leek Branch of the Caldon Canal the pool allows boats to turn around before the tunnel. The Churnet Way long distance walking trail and NCN 559 follow the canal towpath past the pool.

This brook has clay/ orange discharge due to high mineral content like iron oxide.

Relatively flat cycle track following the old railway, a point of interest is the disappearing river which often has huge sections with no water

Sweet princess gravel and largely flat trail. It’s a great place to cycle with small children without having to worry about motor vehicles.

Nice tree-lined trail for MTB and Gravel riding. Can be busy with walkers, runners and dogs so take a bell and use it.
