Great place in the summer with a bridge that gives you 800 mm of handlebar clearance you can clear on a gravel bike but not so on modern MTB bars

The Pill cycling path is a great way to explore the city of Bristol and its surroundings. The path is well-maintained and mostly flat, making it a perfect option for cyclists of all levels. The path runs along the River Avon, providing stunning views of the city and the surrounding countryside. Along the way, you'll pass by a variety of interesting sights, including the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Leigh Woods, and the village of Pill. If you're looking for a challenging ride, you can start at the Ashton Gate stadium and cycle all the way to Portishead. This route is about 15 miles (24 km) long and takes around 3 hours to complete. If you're looking for a shorter ride, you can start at the Create Centre and cycle to Pill. This route is about 5 miles long and takes around an hour to complete. No matter how long or short your ride, you're sure to enjoy the scenery and the fresh air on the Pill cycling path.

Requires a little hop over a fence but lovely views out to Wales and some beautiful wild flowers around!

The Clifton Suspension bridge was built to a design by William Henry Barlow and John Hawkshaw and based on an earlier design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It was opened in 1864. There are loads of great places to view the bridge and this is one of them. From the southern bank of the Avon as it curves into Bristol you can look up the gorge to the bridge. Turn the other way and you can see the big, red and square Tabaco Factory.

Amazing riverside bike track

Pleasant path between Pill and Clifton. Path is a bit too rough and muddy for road tyres but ok on sturdier touring tyres.
