Collingbourne woods is nowhere near this point, I rode all the way from Shrewton to check this out and then found out Collingbourne woods is miles away from here.

Not Road bike suitable. Punctures likey. Verry muddy. MTB/Gravel bike fine.

Path unsuitable for Road bikes/Tyres. Gravel bike and MTB fine. High risk of punctures and muddy.

Nom Nom Nom. Lovely Cafe

Stunning, nice gently rolling gravel road with climb and descent options. If approaching from the east or the west (i.e. trying to stay on the hill to connect to Grovelly or Monkton Deverill) please be aware that the byways entering are not so much fun as the wood itself.

Amazing views of the hills. If your lucky you can see the gliders circling above from the Wing Farm Airfield

You'll find us in the Grovely Wood car park for the day 2 Checkpoint. The brilliant Stif Mountain Bike team will be there from 10.30am - 4pm to say hi and even take a look at your bikes if needed!

Amazing place. I was able to check out the shop and cafe, and have a peak at the garden, whetting my appetite to make it a day's destination some time.

Worth it for the road through Great Ridge but ultimately this isn't great riding. No alternative though so enjoy the mouthful of flies.

Found it a challenge coming up on 40mm tyres E-W, but the descent is a treat. If you've got skinnier tyres or there's been a lot of rain the track directly parallel holds up better in rain.

Great views looking west over Salisbury Plain

Great Wishford sits in a meander of the River Wylye, beneath the chalk ridge adorned by the beautiful Grovely Wood. From the village, Grovely Road leads up to the woodland trails and is a good option for those looking to tackle some hill reps. According to an ancient custom, the residents of the village are permitted to gather firewood annually from Grovely Wood on Oak Apple Day, which is the 29th of May. The village pub, the Royal Oak, is a good shout for post run refreshment.

an absolutely beautiful halfway point to sit and have a snack or two. the views are breathtaking.

Cold Kitchen Hill has a trig point at 257 m. Alfred's Tower at Stourhead is visible, as well as vast swathes of Wiltshire and the West Country.

Has some large sort of speed bumps, that can hit hard on decent. Less suitable for rigid bike forks.

Great gravel road across Salisbury Plains. Military area so keep an eye out for red flags!
